At the end of the XNUMXth century, the Saint-Martin church became the property of the abbey of La Sauve-Majeure (until the middle of the XNUMXth century).
The building is, at the base, of Romanesque style (the portal and the facade remain from this period).
This Romanesque portal has moreover the most remarkable elements of the church: in particular at the level of its archivolts and its capitals (where we see representations of human and divine characters or even animals, fish, and Plant).
Ribbed vaults cover the four bays of the church, which ends in a straight apse (all dating from the XNUMXth century).
The shape of the church is that of a Latin cross. This was made possible by the addition, in the XNUMXth century, of two chapels on the north and south sides.
