The Saint-Pierre church was originally a Romanesque building. At the level of the nave, the walls of the first western bay remain from this period.
In the XNUMXth century, an alteration was undertaken, with the construction of a flat chevet and two open chapels (thus forming a transept).
At the same time, the church was fortified, as evidenced by the crenellations present at the level of the walls of the nave.
Another remarkable defensive element: at the level of the exterior of the church is a watchtower (on machicolation), placed at the level of the buttress of the northeast corner.
In the XNUMXth century, other works led to the covering of the nave, the enlargement of the side chapels and the installation of a painted decoration at the level of the choir.
