Your itinerary

JUGAZAN

From Jugazan, enjoy the hilly landscape offering magnificent panoramas over the Engranne valley.
Continuing towards Rauzan, wind through the rows of vines and reach its medieval castle. Finish your hike by discovering the many Paleolithic sites of Lugasson.
1

Step 1

The starting point is the parking lot at Jugazan town hall. With your back to the town hall, walk straight ahead towards the tennis court and cross the field. Then follow the path between the house and the vineyards to reach the road.
2

Step 2

Turn left and take the right into the dead end at the Y-junction. Turn right again until the first bend.
3

Step 3

Turn right onto the grassy path and follow it to the road.
4

Step 4

Turn right again, then left onto the grassy path between the fields. Continue along the vineyards on the right, then turn left onto the limestone path to enter the woods.
5

Step 5

At the exit of the woods, turn left to pass between the rows of vines. Go all the way to the wine cellars.
6

Step 6

Facing the wine cellars, turn right onto the road and continue until you reach the stop sign, where you turn left. At the first bend, turn right and follow the limestone path through the woods, alongside the vineyards. Then follow the small road to the crossroads at the end.
7

Step 7

Continue to the stop sign and turn right. Turn right again at the first intersection. Take the grassy path at the first bend, cross the woods and reach the hamlet of Saudon.
8

Step 8

Back on the road, follow it to the right until you reach another cross road.
9

Step 9

Cross it and take the path in front of you. Follow it to the road.
10

Step 10

Go straight ahead, then turn right into the first row of vines. At the end of the plot, turn left and enter the woods.
11

Step 11

At the edge of the woods, turn left to follow the edge of the woods. Continue along the path to the house, then turn right. After the poplar grove, turn right onto the road until you reach the intersection with the D123.
12

Step 12

Turn left, then immediately right onto the driveway to the Vieux Château de Rauzan campsite. At the end of the driveway, turn right and follow the small path along the chestnut paling fence. Then, turn left and pass by the foot of the Château de Rauzan. You will come to a fork in the path (you can turn directly right).
13

Step 13

At the paved road, continue straight ahead, then turn left until you reach a bend. After the bend, take the small street on the left, then turn left again to walk around the castle, passing through the moat. Go down to the right, then left, rejoining the outward path. Continue to the crossroads. Turn right to head back towards the church. Keep right at the church. Take the small path on the left along the low wall and rejoin the road. Proceed to the stop sign where you turn left, cross the D128 carefully, and continue straight ahead to the end of the road.
14

Step 14

Turn right, then left onto the paved path which climbs gently. After the house, continue along the path between the vineyards in front of you until you reach a paved road.
15

Step 15

Turn right. Go around the bend and, after about 100 meters, turn left into the vineyard lane towards the hamlet of Benauge. When you reach the junction with the road, continue straight ahead until you reach the D140.
16

Step 16

Stay left on the D140 and continue until you reach the intersection with the D231. Cross it carefully and take the small road directly ahead, then follow the path that follows it. Continue straight on this path until you reach the D236.
17

Step 17

Turn left onto this road, then further on, turn right onto the path between the vines. At the end of the plot, turn right to follow the edge of the woods and then enter them. At the exit, follow the edge of the woods again.
18

Step 18

Turn right between the rows of vines and rejoin the path on your left, which becomes a road. Cross the D231 carefully and continue straight ahead. Follow the vineyard path to the D119.
19

Step 19

Turn right onto the road to reach the village of Lugasson. At the bend, turn left to pass in front of the Church of Saint-Martin. At the crossroads, go straight ahead, then follow the road to the hamlet of Fauroux.
20

Step 20

Take the small road on your left, which goes up alongside the stone wall. Go to the end of the road.
21

Step 21

Turn left onto the road, then at the crossroads, take the limestone path between the vineyards on your right. Continue along this path until you reach the junction with the road. Take the road on your left, then turn right and continue to the fork in the covered walkway.
22

Step 22

Turn left onto the limestone path towards the Curton dolmen. Following this path, you will first pass a reading hut, then the dolmen itself. Continue along the right side of a lake and you will reach a road.
23

Step 23

Turn right onto the road. Continue to and cross the locality known as Joinin.
24

Step 24

After the hamlet, at the road junction, turn right, then left after the first vineyard. Go around this vineyard to the left and follow the path towards the church of Jugazan.
25
