RAUZAN

From the moats of the Château de Rauzan, this path winds through rows of vines as far as the eye can see.
Continuing towards Jugazan, the landscape changes into a hilly relief offering magnificent panoramas over the Engranne valley.
1

Start date

The trail starts at Rauzan Castle. Walk down into the moat, past the picnic tables, and down the stairs on your right.
2

Step 2

At the bottom of the stairs, follow the path to the left at the foot of the embankment. Continue until you reach the small tarmac road. Turn right towards the Rauzan church; go around it, walk along a green space, and return to the street. You will then come to a crossroads.
3

Step 3

Turn left, then go straight to the D128 stop sign towards La Grangeotte.
4

Step 4

At the end of the road, turn right then left onto the tarmac path which climbs slightly. After the house, continue along the path between the vines in front of you to reach a tarmac road.
5

Step 5

Turn right. Pass the bend and, after about a hundred meters, turn left into the vineyard path to head towards the place called Benauge. Arrive at a junction.
6

Step 6

Turn right at the last plot of vines before the road to head towards the place called Benauge. Come out onto a small tarmac road, go straight ahead along the path between the vines and join a road again.
7

Step 7

Turn left. Leave the access to the covered alley on your right. At the next intersection, turn straight ahead and then very quickly right onto the dirt road to reach a four-way junction and a road.
8

Step 8

Head straight ahead toward Massiot. Then take the road to the right at the bend toward Germon le Bas. At the intersection, turn right again to reach Germon le Haut. Continue along this road to the end to reach the D140.
9

Step 9

Turn left and then left again towards the village and the church of Bellefond. At the intersection, turn left to go around the church: you can walk further into the cemetery to enjoy the view.
10

Step 10

Otherwise, walk along the cemetery wall and follow the road opposite. Go down to the intersection with the D140 and turn left to leave the village of Bellefond. Pass the bend and then turn right at the hairpin intersection to head towards La Pontrique. Follow this road to the Moulin du Battant intersection.
11

Step 11

Follow the road straight ahead to reach Pontrique. At the intersection, turn right onto the road that climbs slightly. Continue to Joinin, which you cross.
12

Step 12

At the end of the road, turn right, then left at the stop sign. Keep left again, then turn right along the stone wall and past a parking lot.
13

Step 13

Immediately after, turn slightly left onto the path between the vines. Back on the road, turn right then left onto the small street between the houses. Pass a fork to reach the D119.
14

Step 14

Turn left. At the sign for Bruc, turn right. Pass between the two houses to reach the vineyards. Follow the vineyard path, pass a grove, and continue for about 100 meters.
15

Step 15

Turn left onto the vineyard path. Continue along this same path until you reach the road.
16

Step 16

Turn right. After passing the mill on your left, turn left at the second intersection to head towards Barigat.
17

Step 17

At the fork, take the small street on the far right. Continue toward Blabot and turn straight ahead at the bend to reach a grassy path. Follow the low stone wall. You can enjoy the view of Rauzan Castle. At the washhouse, turn left to go down the path alongside the campsite. At the foot of the castle, climb the stairs and walk around the moat on the right. You can then return to your starting point.
