At the heart of a landscape of hills and vineyards, Gensac is one of the architectural highlights of Grand Libournais. Classified as an "old village", a natural bastion overlooking the valleys of the Durèze and the Dordogne, Gensac offers the opportunity to rediscover the charm of a small town of yesteryear.

The cobbled streets, the remains of the ramparts, the restored medieval houses (eg the house of the cats or the house of the baker), are all testimonies of this.

The village has a church, dedicated to Notre Dame, which, after being destroyed, was rebuilt at the end of the XNUMXth century in the neo-Gothic style (on the site of the old Romanesque church). It has remarkable elements such as a rich wall decoration at the level of the choir (late XNUMXth century) or an oil on canvas representing Saint-Jacques (late XNUMXth or early XNUMXth century). Gensac is also a lively village: in addition to the Carmelite of its old stones, you will appreciate its many traders and craftsmen.
