St. Stephen's Church

The church of Saint-Etienne, neo-Gothic style, was completed in 1877 (instead of a small Romanesque church) and consecrated in 1878. This new church was financed largely by donations from the parishioners and the parish priest. de Branne, Abbé Lapeyre (real project manager).
The building has a nave surrounded by two aisles of four bays (covered by ribbed vaults).
The high altar (in stone and marble), designed by Father Lapeyre, is inspired by that of the Sainte-Chapelle.
At the level of the facade, three portals are surmounted by two high octagonal spiers. The building is supported on its sides by flying buttresses (with abutments decorated with pinnacles). The church ends, to the east, with an apse with a half-timbered main apse and two apses.
