PESSAC-SUR-DORDOGNE

This small village located between Saint-Emilion and Bergerac is a former wine transport port. This walk through the hills will give you another point of view of the agricultural wealth of the place and with a little luck of its wild fauna!
1

The start

Park in the Temple car park. Back to the temple. Take the Rue du Port opposite, in the direction of the quays.
2

Step 1

Walk along the river, heading north-east, pass under the bridge then in front of the Château Vidasse. Continue on this small road which leads to a white path, in front of the pumping station. Continue for 800m to arrive on the RD130 road.
3

Step 2

At the road, turn right (be careful), then, at the second intersection, take the small road on the left towards the place called Guillemat. Then continue on the dirt road which crosses the stream. Follow the dirt road to the right and pass between the houses (it is mentioned Labarthe on the IGN map, also called the Méjéan) and continue for about 1km. The path joins the hamlet of Maupile. Continue on the small road which makes a 90 ° bend until the next crossroads.
4

Step 3

Turn left, then in the following bend, follow the path opposite which runs along the walnut trees (house on your left). Arrive in front of the Provencal style house, continue to the right to find the road and turn right.
5

Step 4

In the bend, take the grassy path between the vines and continue to the left. Before the path turns right, continue straight ahead in the sunken path (bypass it if it is congested). Continue straight until the road.
6

Step 5

When you get to the road, turn right then left towards the hamlet of Durège. Continue straight on the dirt road (at the last house) which goes down. At the intersection, take the path on the left to enter the woods. At the intersection in the woods, take the path on your right to join the departmental road (D16).
7

Step 6

At the departmental road, turn right and walk along it carefully to reach your starting point, the Temple.
